Commissioning Manager

About this role

Remora is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead the startup, commissioning, testing, and operational handoff of our modular carbon capture systems. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building and executing the commissioning process as we move from our first commercial deployment to a growing fleet of systems.

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Controls, Field Service, Project Management, and Operations to safely bring systems online, troubleshoot issues in the field, validate performance, and establish a repeatable commissioning model that can scale with our deployment pipeline.   We’re building modular carbon capture systems, turning exhaust into beverage-grade CO₂ sold to breweries and greenhouses.

We deploy in regions facing severe CO₂ shortages, where prices are highest, allowing us to generate high margins without relying on tax credits or carbon credits.   We’ve raised over $115 million in funding from top investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners.

Responsibilities   Own the commissioning process from mechanical completion through startup, performance validation, and handoff to Operations. Develop and maintain commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, test protocols, acceptance criteria, and documentation. Lead onsite startup and commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, controls, instrumentation, and process systems.

Coordinate commissioning schedules and resources across Engineering, Project Management, Operations, contractors, vendors, and customer sites.
