About this role

Remora is seeking a Controller to build and lead our accounting function as we transition from technology development into commercial operations, bringing our first capital projects into service, launching new revenue streams, and preparing for our first financial statement audit and ERP migration. This is a hands-on leadership role — you will own the general ledger, monthly close, technical accounting, financial reporting, and audit, with significant ownership from day one and the opportunity to build and lead the team as we scale.

  We’re building modular carbon capture systems, turning exhaust into beverage-grade CO₂ sold to breweries and greenhouses. We deploy in regions facing severe CO₂ shortages, where prices are highest, allowing us to generate high margins without relying on tax credits or carbon credits.    We’ve raised over $115 million in funding from top investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners.

  Responsibilities:   Own the monthly close, general ledger, and financial reporting process, including payroll, AP, and AR during the early stages of the role. Lead revenue recognition and accounts receivable across multiple revenue streams.    Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as the company scales.

Lead Remora through its first financial audit, including technical accounting positions, documentation, schedules, and auditor relationships.    Manage accounting for debt, leases, equity instruments, warrants, and other complex financing arrangements, including lender reporting and covenant requirements.
