Director of Electrical Engineering
About this role
Remora is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the design and execution of electrical systems for our industrial carbon capture products. This hands-on leader will build and develop the electrical engineering function while providing technical direction across product development, deployment, and commissioning.
Experience with industrial power systems, 480V three-phase power, generator integration, and medium- or high-voltage systems is highly valued. We’re building modular carbon capture systems, turning exhaust into beverage-grade CO₂ sold to breweries and greenhouses. We deploy in regions facing severe CO₂ shortages, where prices are highest, allowing us to generate high margins without relying on tax credits or carbon credits. We’ve raised over $115 million in funding from top investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners.
Responsibilities: Lead and grow the Electrical Engineering function while remaining hands-on in design, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making. Own electrical design, architecture, and engineering execution from concept through production, deployment, and commissioning. Design and integrate industrial electrical systems, including power generation & distribution, controls, instrumentation, motors, panels, and generator systems.
Develop and review schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and electrical system designs. Perform and oversee electrical studies, protection strategies, and power system analysis, including load flow, short-circuit, and arc flash. Provide hands-on technical leadership across 480V three-phase power, grounding, protection, and medium/high-v
