About this role

Remora is seeking a  Senior Project Manager  to lead permitting strategy and execution for our carbon capture site deployments and commissioning. This is a foundational, hands-on role for a fast-paced startup. You will build the permitting programs, processes, and playbooks from the ground up while working directly with local and state municipalities, agencies, and cross-functional teams to secure the approvals needed to deploy and commission Remora's systems nationwide.

We’re building modular carbon capture systems, turning exhaust into beverage-grade CO₂ sold to breweries and greenhouses. We deploy in regions facing severe CO₂ shortages, where prices are highest, allowing us to generate high margins without relying on tax credits or carbon credits.   We’ve raised over $115 million in funding from top investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners.

Responsibilities:   Own end-to-end site development from initial due diligence through permitting, design, contractor selection, construction, and site readiness. Lead site due diligence, including surveys, environmental, geotechnical, utility, civil, and regulatory assessments, identifying risks and development constraints early.

Develop and manage site development strategies, scopes, budgets, schedules, and project milestones across multiple sites. Lead permitting and entitlement strategy, coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies and managing required approvals and conditions. Manage external civil engineers, surveyors, environmental consultants, permitting specialists, and other project partners, ensuring quality and timely deliverables.
